Koonenberry Gold Unveils 2km Gold Trend at Enmore, Eyes Deeper High-Grade Zones
Koonenberry Gold’s recent wide spaced RC drilling at the Hand in Hand Prospect confirms a 2km mineralised gold trend within the Enmore Gold Project, NSW, setting the stage for a major diamond drilling campaign to explore deeper high-grade targets.
- 15-hole RC drilling program confirms widespread anomalous gold over 2km strike
- 11 of 15 holes returned significant gold intersections exceeding 2g/t x m
- Drilling limited to ~100m vertical depth due to groundwater, deeper targets remain untested
- Fully funded 10,000m diamond drilling underway at Sunnyside to test high-grade zones
- Structural analysis and further drilling planned to target dilational and cross-structure sites
Confirming a Fertile Gold Corridor
Koonenberry Gold (ASX, KNB) has delivered a promising update from its Enmore Gold Project in New South Wales, revealing a 2-kilometre mineralised trend at the Hand in Hand Prospect. The company completed a first pass, wide spaced reverse circulation (RC) drilling program comprising 15 holes totaling 1,864 metres. The results highlight the fertile nature of the Sunnyside Shear Zone, with 11 holes returning significant gold intersections above 2 gram-metre thresholds.
Notably, the drilling intercepted broad zones of anomalous gold, including standout intervals such as 50 metres at 0.36 g/t from surface and a high-grade 1 metre at 4.2 g/t from 59 metres depth. These findings reinforce the potential for ‘Sunnyside-style’ mineralisation repetitions along this structurally complex shear zone.
Challenges and Opportunities at Depth
The program faced limitations due to excessive groundwater, restricting drilling to an average vertical depth of around 100 metres, well short of the planned 250 metres. This shallow testing means that the deeper, higher-grade gold zones, which at Sunnyside typically commence below 140 metres vertical, remain largely unexplored at Hand in Hand. The company anticipates that upcoming diamond drill results, expected later in January, will shed light on these deeper targets.
Managing Director Dan Power emphasised the encouraging nature of the mineralisation and alteration patterns observed, which mirror those at Sunnyside. He highlighted the need for detailed structural analysis to identify dilational sites and cross-structures that could host richer gold shoots, leveraging newly acquired high-resolution geophysical data.
Advancing Exploration with Strong Funding
Koonenberry Gold is well positioned financially, with $7.8 million in cash as of September 2025, supporting an aggressive exploration agenda. The company has already recommenced a fully funded 10,000-metre diamond drilling program at Sunnyside, aiming to delineate the continuity of mineralisation and test extensions along strike and at depth.
Beyond Hand in Hand and Sunnyside, Koonenberry is also planning further drilling along the Sunnyside Shear Zone, particularly targeting a 500-metre gap between known mineralisation zones. The broader Enmore Gold Project, with its geological similarities to the nearby 1.7 million ounce Hillgrove deposit, remains open for expansion, with multiple parallel shear zones identified as prospective targets.
A Strategic Portfolio in NSW
This latest drilling success forms part of Koonenberry’s broader strategy to unlock value across its extensive NSW portfolio, which includes gold and copper projects with significant exploration upside. The company’s methodical approach, combining geophysical surveys, structural geology, and multi-phase drilling, is designed to systematically test and expand its resource base.
With visible gold already observed in several diamond drill holes and a pipeline of exploration targets, Koonenberry Gold is poised to deliver a steady stream of news flow in the coming months, potentially reshaping the outlook for the Enmore Gold Project.
Bottom Line?
Koonenberry Gold’s confirmation of a 2km gold trend at Enmore sets the stage for deeper drilling that could unlock high-grade zones and transform the project’s scale.
Questions in the middle?
- Will the upcoming diamond drill results confirm high-grade gold zones at depth?
- How will structural analysis refine targeting along the Sunnyside Shear Zone?
- What impact will expanded drilling have on potential resource estimates and project valuation?
